About ACRN

Introduction

As the economies in Asia continue to grow, the financial services sector of each country has witnessed significant development. Since the financial and credit reporting industries are closely interlinked, the importance of credit reporting cannot be overstated.

Credit reporting systems help ensure financial stability of a country by enabling responsible access to finance. They can also play an instrumental role in expanding access to credit and other services on credit to the underserved and unbanked. In the era that financial inclusion has become a public policy priority in many countries, it is no doubt that greater financial inclusion must become an essential component of Asia's continued economic development.

To support the equitable and inclusive growth in Asia, ACRN, the Asian Credit Reporting Network, was founded to represent the Asian credit reporting industry by bringing together key participants in the credit reporting infrastructure. In paricular, that it is urgently required for Asian countries to promote exchanges and cooperation on credit reporting by sharing knowledge and experiences among members.

In this regard, ACRN is aimed at creating the universal value on importance of credit reporting in Asia and becoming a paragon for those countries where credit reporting is developing. Based on the understanding of similarities in culture and mindset among Asian economies, ACRN has a unique opportunity and responsibility to make a positive difference in helping them nurture a healthy and sound credit society.

The ultimate objective of ACRN is to play a pivotal role in building on the strong network and improving the productive exchanges among members to advance the credit reporting industry. While, becoming the source of inspiration and insights, Asian credit registries can turn to pending issues on credit reporting. We focus on issues such as fintech, alternative data, and financial inclusion which impact the credit reporting industry to help members proactively take measures to respond to the evolving changes in the environment.

Asia Credit Reporting Network (ACRN)

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) sets for understanding among credit reporting agencies in Asia.

This MOU is set with the purpose of collaborating to share knowledge and experience among members without any commitment of legal binding or liabilities.

A collaboration will be accomplished by undertaking the following activities.

Conducting surverys on members in terms of credit reporting system, law & regulation, IT system, etc. Performing market research on recent trends Organizing member events
